WELCOME
Located in Maine’s northerly “Downeast,” halfway between Mount Desert National Park and Campobello Island, one mile into the Atlantic Ocean, you’ll find a 150-acre island hosting a one-of-a-kind artist residency program.
NORTON ISLAND RESIDENCY PROGRAM FOR WRITERS AND ARTISTS
Each summer, Norton Island hosts three two-week sessions for thirty established artists, musicians, and writers to develop and share their work in an extraordinarily beautiful and remote wilderness setting.
The Eastern Frontier Educational Foundation is the IRC section 501(c)(3) exempt private operating foundation that funds and maintains the Norton Island Residency Program. Easter Frontier is organized and operates within the state of Maine and has received no direct or indirect government funding. Its last 2 990-PF filings can be viewed here. For prior years, please write: Eastern Frontier, PO Box 472, Jonesport, ME 04649
